5 martyrs including an army colonel and major in Handwara encounter J&K, 2 terrorist shot dead...

The Indian Army has suffered heavy losses in a fierce encounter in Handwara, Jammu and Kashmir since Saturday.  The commanding officer, a major and two soldiers of a colonel rank of 21 Rashtriya Rifles have been martyred while facing the terrorists in Handwara.  

At the same time, a soldier of J&K Police has also been killed during this encounter. It is being said during the fierce encounter two of the terrorists have also been shot dead. It is being said that a team of 21 Rashtriya Rifles had entered a house to free the hostages and the two terrorists started firing. In this encounter, one Sub Inspector of Jammu and Kashmir Police and 4 Army men were killed. However, the army successfully took out the trapped civilians from the house.
