Liquor and paan shops were given permission to remain open in this Lockdown 3.0, but here are some conditions...

The government has now taken the decision to extend the lockdown for the third time to prevent the further spread of corona infection. The lockdown period has now been extended to May 17.

Meanwhile, the Modi government has also taken a big decision regarding liquor and paan shops. Liquor and paan shops are given exemption in this Lockdown 3.0, but can only remain open on the following conditions.

In the green zone area, liquor and paan shops are given permission to remain open anywhere. The only condition in this area is people have to maintain a distance of at least 6 feet and also more than 5 people should not gather in this area.

Orange zones area means there are few corona patients but liquor and paan shops given permission to operate and the condition remain the same as a green zone.

The red zone is the highly infected area, that is why a special condition has been laid in this area. Shops which are away from the market and other crowded places are only given permission to remain open in this area and remaining conditions are the same as green and orange zone areas of following the social distancing. Liquor shops were also closed during the lockdown. During this period, many states which rely on tax from these shops including Punjab demanded to give permission for liquor shops to remain open. Exempting these shops from lockdown will open up a large source of income for the states.
